The Landman III (Title) is responsible for all land
functions associated with the drilling of oil and gas wells including final approval of title opinions and curative
documentation related to the company's drilling program activity in a specific geographic region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Arranges schedules, compiles documentation, prepares applications and testifies for administrative hearings in
geographic region.
* Approves for drilling title curative on fee and leasehold properties of the company.
* Orders from outside counsel, title opinions on fee and leasehold properties, as well as sets and adjusts priorities of
the outside counsel's work.
* Coordinates and distributes work assignments for field staff and contract personnel for title curative.
* Coordinates, prepares documentation, attends and testifies at administrative hearings.
* Assists in the preparation and negotiation of agreements related to drilling joint interest wells.
* Participates as a team member of the development team for a geographic region.
* Coordinates the timing of receipt of title opinions and curative items from outside counsel and field contract staff
to ensure title is cleared prior to a well permit being received.
* Constantly communicates with outside counsel and field personnel and development teams to set and adjust priorities of
work tasks.
* Utilizes PDM to track the progress of wells through the land clearing process. REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in land management or a closely related field; and
* At least six years of experience which demonstrates an understanding of title abstracting, oil and gas leasing,
surface damage negotiations, pipeline and road ROW; OR
* An equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to review and comprehend various oil and gas agreements.
* Excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written.
* Excellent mapping skills (tax, topo & farmline).
