Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Our client is looking for a highly talented senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to be part of a ground
floor opportunity on a newly forming team that will implement their formal software testing initiatives. The successful
candidate will help design automated tools and processes, build utilities, drive tool selection and help supervise these
components across the development and testing of our product. This position requires a strong individual contributor
with demonstrable initiative and allows for a high level of ownership, autonomy and technical contribution. This
position currently reports to the Director of Software Development.


Responsibilities


* Write and execute test cases

* Write test harnesses, test applications, and black box testing support

* Communicate closely with development and program management to collect the information necessary to assure quality

* Communicate status of work and blocking issues ensuring progress is on track

* Facilitate team work flow by streamlining processes and team projects


Qualifications



* At least 5 years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Development in Test (SDET) experience in a
commercial product environment

* Proven understanding of .Net framework, and strong familiarity experience with C# (Java, C++ Linux/Unix experience
acceptable for someone with a strong Computer Science and Mathematics foundation)

* Experience developing .Net-based test tools and utilities to use in product testing (ASP.NET)

* Strong object oriented programming skills in C#

* Strong familiarity with Visual Studio .NET

* Database knowledge (SQL)

* Strong analytical skills used to create data-centric test cases and to analyze results

* Experience designing / implementing test strategies, test plans and test harnesses to ensure appropriate product
functional coverage

* Solid understanding of development methodologies (for example ‘Agile’)

* Strong debugging and problem analysis skills

* Testing highly scalable applications

* Experience in testing server products

* Experience with stress + performance testing

* Network monitoring and profiling

* Familiarity with IIS/XML Web Services desired

* Experience with Team Foundation Server preferred

* Strong written and verbal English communication skills

* Requires undergraduate or graduate-level degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
