Technical Program Manager



Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to be responsible for consistently managing the
software project development lifecycle from requirements gathering and expectations setting through customer launch and
monitoring. This position will work closely with software development team and managers to continually improve our
products, services, and processes by which these are delivered. This is a unique and challenging ground floor

Responsibilities:




* Drive product development cycle by driving trade-off decisions between cost, schedule, functional scope, and quality
* Work with stakeholders to illuminate base product requirements and timing needs
* Extend product feature definitions and refine scope when needed
* Collaborate with technical staff to define technical requirements of product or service
* Acknowledge systems architecture issues, including platform data usage/needs and other infrastructure challenges
* Ensure that product architecture and technology decisions are consistent with corporate strategies and future
expectations
* Author project plans and functional specifications; drive other vital project artifact deliveries from other members
of the team
* Develop and drive product schedule commitments
* Prioritize and monitor the activities of development, test and other delivery personnel to ensure project success
with respect to schedule, cost and quality expectations
* Motivate, mentor and collaborate with all members of the technical teams
* Facilitate Change Management decisions and adjust assignments and expectations accordingly
* Own project status and track against plan. Drive project communication across company by actively:
* Communicating strategies, prospective methodology and tools among work group members, project team members, clients,
and executive groups
* Communicating progress, risk and cost management and other measures of delivery progress to project team members,
clients and executive groups
* When necessary escalate project status/issues/risks to management and other project stakeholders
* Assist in the development and implementation of more mature technical project management processes, methods and tools





Qualifications:




* 5+ years experience as a Technical Program or Project Manager of complex enterprise products and multiple years of
previous hands on experience as a Software Engineer
* Very strong written and verbal communication as well as excellent leadership
* Demonstrated ability to map business requirements to appropriate functional/technical requirements
* Mastery of project management principles, tools and technical document preparation, such as project plans and
functional specifications is expected
* Experience with all phases of software product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design,
specifications, development, test, product release, and sustaining engineering
* Intimate experience with different development methodologies is highly preferred
* Exceptional troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer management skills and abilities
* Solid understanding of techniques to achieve scalability and high availability for software applications
* Strong advocacy for change management principles
* Experience in process and systems analysis, technical design, and launch of enterprise level systems is preferred
* Direct experience with PMI or other project management toolset/certification is a plus and common office productivity

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, advance degree preferred
