We seek a diligent, experienced engineering manager, with a history of successful systems development for a technology
company in the video compression industry. With strong engineering team development and management skills, the
successful candidate will provide the hands-on leadership needed for effective multi-project management, and the
innovative drive to ensure the continued growth of the company.

Reporting to the CEO, as a key member of a dynamic management team, the VP of Engineering will be responsible for all
aspects of the company's engineering and product development activities. These will include the structuring and
operation of the engineering function as a cohesive unit; the conceptualization and day-to-day management of
simultaneous projects; the delivery of manufacturable products to agreed-upon specifications within time and budget
constraints, and the fostering of innovative solutions to customer needs. Our privately-held company located in the
Austin TX area, is enjoying strong growth and is expected to see profitability in 2009 on projected sales in the $12
million - $15 million range.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

The ideal candidate will have a proven record that fulfills the majority of these requirements:

Minimum BSEE; MSEE preferred
10+ years of industry engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a management position
Competent in computer hardware and software design.
Strong and current experience in video compression technology
Proven ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities
Record of achieving objectives; successful project completion, within budget and time frame
Team leadership skills with an ability to recruit engineering talent, foster a team oriented work environment, and and
set performance goals for individual contributors
Able to define and implement processes and procedures for best practices in engineering and test to ensure product
quality
Demonstrated peripheral vision; designing for specific needs, but with wider applications in mind
Small, growth company experience, in the $10 million - $100 million range
Literate, communicative, client-friendly and flexible

LOCATION
The job is located in the Austin area. There will be some travel associated with this job from time to time for
meetings, customer and vendor interaction and national and international trade shows.
