Master Scheduler10005659Ground Systems (GS) employs more than 4,000 people in eight states and multiple field
locations in the U.S. and internationally. GS is committed to force protection, from the current force to the
future force, and from vehicle systems to individual soldiers.

GS provides combat vehicle systems in major vehicle families - Bradley, M88, AAV, M113, M109 and M9 - that
fulfill more than 20 different current force mission roles. As military forces confront threats around the
world, GS is supporting the current force with vital enhancements to existing systems and offering new
solutions to rapidly meet essential customer needs.

As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, GS will help ensure the future success of
U.S. soldiers on the battlefield developing and demonstrating five Manned Ground Vehicles that are part of the
family of systems for FCS, including support for the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon in 2008. GS fulfils another key
role on FCS as the developer of the Armed Robotic Vehicle in two variants. These critical weapons will be the
first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower,
situational awareness and survivability.

GS is also developing and delivering integrated survivability technologies from body armor inserts to active
protection systems that provide a new level of soldier survivability and combat vehicle performance. Works
under general direction and guidance of the Department Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for all planning
and scheduling of manufactured parts through the following systems: Material Requirements Planning (MRP),
Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) to support tooling, prototype,
and/or production manufacturing. Provides direction to Material Coordinators and Material Control Specialists.
Familiar with a variety of the organizational concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as, a complete
understanding of material planning and control. This position relies on experience and judgment to organize,
plan and accomplish department objectives with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected to fulfill a
variety of duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reviews and analyzes inputs to include, but not limited to: Engineering Requisitions (ER), Engineering
Orders (EO), Tool Requests, and Maintenance Work orders to fully understand internal customer requests and
needs.
2. Initiates activities required to fulfill customer expectations to include creating part masters,
creating/manipulating BOM/Order bills, developing/initiating part acquisition (make, buy, transfer, GFM) and
control strategies, as well as, shipping of components
3. Reviews/analyzes system MRP/ERP and other output reports and on-line screens to determine valid
requirements, taking into consideration excess on-hand/work-in-process (WIP) material; approves/releases valid
replenishment orders in a timely manner resulting in a steady/level flow to manufacturing.
4. Establishes valid part order policies, modifier, safety stock, issue codes and commodity codes as
applicable; ensures applicable information is correctly assigned in Product Structure file.
5. Evaluates component lead-times compatible with the material management system; resolves out-of-sync
lead-times with manufacturing.
6. Prevents anticipated shortages by utilizing shortage report and simulated pick lists; takes action required
to clear part shortages, (i.e. expediting, material transfers, substitutions, etc.)
7. Monitors and maintains order due dates to ensure validity. Re-negotiates due date expectations with
internal customers to ensure on time delivery of product.
8. Schedules work for machines/work centers to maximize throughput, resource utilization, machine/labor
efficiencies, and/or service level.
9. Participates in the development and establishment of project material strategies in order to maintain
minimum inventory investment by maximizing turns as well as prudent planning during contract start-ups and
change implementation; utilizes available resources to identify situations that will reduce excess/obsolete
inventory.
10. Coordinates and maintains ?as-built? configuration through the use of appropriate change management tools.

11. Plays a key role in the material planning group.
12. Interfaces frequently and directly with Procurement, Engineering Support and Manufacturing as well as
other GSD plant personnel to acquire components.
13. Upon request, retrieves computer download files and development spreadsheets for performing ?what if?
analysis and compiling data in support of business/material decisions.
14. Monitors status of actual performance to plan (both schedule and manpower). May recommend and/or implement
alternatives to bring performance in line with plan. (Alternatives to include, but not l Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Required:
1. Associates degree with at least ten (10) years of experience in a planning/coordinating function required
or High school diploma with at least 15 years of experience in a planning/coordinating function
2. APICS CPIM certification preferred.
3. Must have strong personal computer knowledge with strong aptitude in spreadsheet and database development
to include Excel, Word, Business Objects, and/or Access.
4. Knowledge of blueprint reading, material requirements planning processes & concepts, enterprise resources
planning processes & concepts, and capacity requirements planning processes & concepts required. People are
