PROJECT FOCUS AREAS AND ACTIVITIES

A.) Recruitment and Training: Revise and distribute recruitment materials, act as primary contact for recruitment of
VISTA team members. Assist with creation and implementation of On-Site Orientation and Training (OSOT). Provide training
and technical assistance to VISTA members and project partners.
B.) Project Management: Build the capacity of the VISTA project by creating and implementing project management systems
and infrastructure. Conduct regular site visits to provide support and assess project progress. Collect and compile
individual weekly reports and documents into quarterly Project Progress Reports (PPR) for CNCS.
C.) VISTA Support/Advocacy: Assist members with navigating benefits of service (i.e. loan deferment, health insurance,
etc.). Facilitate on-going communication between VISTAs and other project stakeholders. Plan and coordinate regular
meetings with VISTA members and other support personnel. Act as liaison between CNCS and VISTA members. Advocate on
behalf of all VISTA members and member issues.

Education, Skills and Abilities:
College Degree or equivalent experience, 18 years or older, previous term of service with AmeriCorps or Peace Corps,
database design and management, volunteer management, research and analysis, computer and internet/email (Microsoft
Office Suite, Publisher, etc.), public speaking, project management, strong documentation and organizational skills,
effective problem solving skills, ability to understand "big picture" while completing detail oriented tasks, ability
and desire to work with a variety of individuals residing in rural communities, self-motivated; ability to work
independently with minimal supervision, friendly and effective interpersonal skills, healthy sense of humor, ability and
desire to occasionally travel independently (in Arizona)


AmeriCorps VISTA Leader Benefits (Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week)
Living Allowance - $12,380 for year of service
