The University of San Diego undergraduate business program is one of the top 50 in the U.S. according to Business Week. The Department of Economics at the University of California-San Diego offers both BA and graduate programs in economics and was ranked one of the ten best economics departments in the 2008 U.S. News and World Report list of best colleges.

Wells Fargo is the single largest provider of San Diego financial jobs. The banking, accounting and insurance sectors are the leading financial employers in San Diego. The city is also a major pharmaceutical and high-tech center, and financial analysis and management opportunities can be found in those industries.
