Schools:
Though some clerical and administrative positions within the insurance industry may require no more than a high school degree and related experience, most insurance jobs require licensure and an associate's or bachelor's degree. A two or four-year degree in business administration, economics or a related subject from an accredited college is a good foundation for Ohio insurance jobs such as underwriting or sales. Actuarial jobs would demand a more specialized major like mathematics, statistics or finance. Insurance can also be an appealing industry for professionals making a career change, e.g. medical professionals working in health insurance or law enforcement professionals becoming insurance investigators. An insurance professional must meet experience requirements and/or pass an exam in order to obtain a license.
