Schools:
Most occupations within the finance industry require at least a bachelor's degree in a subject such as accounting, business, economics or finance. A master's degree in business administration or finance is typically required to advance beyond entry-level positions. Licensure or registration is also required for some finance jobs in Ohio, e.g. securities broker and financial analyst jobs. Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati are two of the top-ranked schools for aspiring financial professionals in the Cincinnati area. The undergraduate program at the UC College of Business was ranked among the top 80 in the U.S. last year by BusinessWeek magazine. Xavier has a part-time MBA program that has consistently been listed as one of the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

Some of the largest single providers of finance jobs in Cincinnati and its metro area are American Financial Group, Western & Southern Financial Group, Fifth Third Bank, Citigroup, and US Bank.
